CASTELSARDO
Just 20 minutes from Badesi is the beautiful town of Castelsardo with its splendid historic centre. It is perched on a rocky promontory and dominated by the castle-fortress built by the Doria family in 1102. The medieval history of the town’s old buildings can still be seen within its walls.
The marina with its ancient tower is also worth a visit, along with the Mediterranean Weaving Museum which is located in several of the rooms inside the castle.
This is a place of history but also for shopping, as there are several large Sardinian handicraft shops where you can buy souvenirs such as the characteristic finely worked red coral, typical handwoven Sardinian baskets and traditional filigree jewellery.
Before you arrive in Castelsardo you should stop at Multeddu to visit the “Su Tresoru” nuraghe and the spectacular “Roccia dell’Elefante”, a prehistoric chamber tomb known as a “domus de Janas”. LEARN MORE

ALGHERO
Alghero is one of the most striking towns in Sardinia and its old part, or historic centre features numerous typical Catalan buildings and local traditions.
It is the tourist capital of the Riviera del Corallo, an area which is one of the main economic and social resources and where coral is harvested and worked by skilled local artisans.
At the foot of the Capo Caccia cliffs is the Grotta di Nettuno (Neptune’s Cave) which thanks to its natural features, is unequalled anywhere else in the Mediterranean. The cave can be visited either by descending a suggestive staircase of 656 steps or approaching from the sea by boat from Alghero.
The Alghero dialect is very similar to the language spoken in Catalonia in the 1400s and the city is a linguistic enclave recognized by the Italian constitution.LEARN MORE
